Sephra chocolate fountain chocolate and fondue chocolates flow effortlessly in chocolate fountains and never require the addition of messy oils that dilute the pure chocolate flavor. Our fountain chocolates are ready-to-use in quick-melting chip form and are packaged in sanitary two-pound pouches for convenience and reduction of chocolate waste.
So what's the difference?
All of our chocolate tastes and works great in chocolate fountains, but there is a difference between each type. Here is a brief explanation:
Sephra Belgian Chocolate: This is the best chocolate ever. It is creamy and rich in taste. If you bake, it is like baking with Whole Fat Milk instead of a 2% or lower fat milk. Both are good, but Belgian just tastes and smells better. Imported directly from Belgium. Highly recommended for wedding or events where you want to make sure everyone leaves impressed.
Sephra Premium Chocolate: Same basic Belgian recipe, made right here in the USA and made with lower fat milk. Tastes great, but not quite as creamy and rich like the Belgian chocolate. A little lower in price, but highly recommended for any event. You can't go wrong with Premium chocolate.
Sephra Melano Melts: Sephra Melts are perfect for candy making, dipping strawberries and a more economical way to enjoy your chocolate fountain. Sephra Melts are designed to harden faster when removed from heat, kind of like a shell but not has hard. Highly recommended for any event, but fantastic for kids parties or events when a tight budget is required.
So How Much Chocolate Do I Need?
It is estimated that each person will dip roughly 3 items about the size of a large strawberry or marshmallow. You do need to keep in mind that not everyone will dip in the fondue fountain and some people will dip more than others. You will need to take into account how much Sephra chocolate your chocolate fountain needs to run smoothly. Your Sephra chocolate fountain requires a minimum amount of Sephra chocolate to create a full curtain of chocolate over each tier. You will need to take the differnce between the maximum amount your chocolate fountain will hold and the minimum it needs to run and this number will be the amount of servable chocolate that your guests will eat from . We recommend that you start off with more than the minimum your chocolate fountain needs because once guests start dipping, the flow will not be like the pictures, smooth and perfect, but you will have gaps in the chocolate. You can always add more Sephra chocolate to your Sephra chocolate fountain to feed more people so it is better to have too much than not enough. See the diagram below for more details:
Fountain Model Minimum Maximum Servable Chocolate Amount Approx. # guests served
Select CF16E 3 4 1 20
CF18 L, M, H 4 6 2 40
Commercial fountains serve more people per pound. Please contact us for those details.
Extra chocolate after your event can be used again, but the sanitation reasons would be the only reason not to use it again. We recommend to discard the chocolate.
The numbers below do NOT take into account the minimum your fountain needs to run.
- 20 guests or less: 4 lbs.
- 20 - 50 guests: 8 lbs.
- 50 - 100 guests: 12 lbs.
- 100 - 150 guests: 16 lbs.
- 150 - 200 guests: 20 lbs.
Don't forget to order skewers!
IS MY CHOCOLATE STILL GOOD?
All of our chocolate has a best by date on it. We guarantee that your chocolate will work in the fountain if the melting instructions are followed and not have to add any oil to thin it out if used before the Best by date.
Here are some helpful tips to see if your chocolate is still good to eat and use if past the best by date:
1 -Storage of chocolate is very important. Store chocolate in a cool, dry place preferrably dark as well.
2 - The more chocolate is exposed to light the shorter the product will stay good after the best by date.
3 - Dark is the least sensitive to light and can easily stay good 6-12 months after the best by date. It will just lose some of its cocoa taste, or taste less chocolaty.
4 - Milk chocolate can stay good 4-6 months past the best by date if stored correctly.
5 - White chocolate can stay good 3-5 months past the best by date if stored correctly.
6 - The milk powder in Milk and White chocolate oxidizes gradually under the effect of light and air.
7 - The longer you can keep chocolate in closed packaging in the dark, the longer you can keep it.
