Spice up Sephra's Crème Brulee Mix with Seasonal Ingredients

What better way to embrace the cooler weather and colorful leaves of fall than by using Sephra's crème brulee mix to create pumpkin crème brulee, apple cinnamon crème brulee or caramel-apple crème brulee?  Sephra's crème brulee mix is a cinch to modify and will still impress everyone who tastes your autumnal creations.

For pumpkin crème brulee, simply add 1 teaspoon of grated nutmeg, ½ cup of solid pack pumpkin and 2 tablespoons of orange liqueur to the crème brulee mix, then chill as usual. To add that extra touch, mix together ¼ cup packed brown sugar and ½ teaspoon of cinnamon and sprinkle over each dish. Then, use your culinary butane torch (or the broiler) to scorch the surface and caramelize the sugar.

For the apple cinnamon crème brulee, peel and core 3 Granny Smith apples and cut into bite-size pieces. Cover the apples with ¼ cup water and add ¼ cup sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon and cook on the stove until tender. Let cool and then add to Sephra's crème brulee mix, chill and serve. Again, lightly scorching the top will only enhance the apple cinnamon flavor.

Caramel-apple crème brulee also requires 3 Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced thin. You can cook over the stove with water or heat in the microwave until tender (drain the remaining water), but this time place the apple slices on the bottom of each ramekin and top with caramel. Then, cover with the apple and caramel with Sephra's crème brulee mix, chill and serve this delicious dessert with a fruit surprise on the bottom.
