How much Chocolate do I need for a Sephra Chocolate Fountain
Sephra - How Much Chocolate Do I Need For My Fountain?
Divide & Conquer
In today's quick tip we're going to answer the question of how much Chocolate do I need for my next event. There are a lot of times where we get calls from customers and they'll say "I've got 100 people" or "I've got 300 people who are going to be at my wedding or graduation or quinceañera. How much chocolate do i need to be able to serve them?" Well I've got a quick and easy formula that's going to be able to answer that for you. One pound of chocolate generally serves about 20 guests. Each guest on average takes about three dipped items. Now some will take none, some will pull up a chair and park it right in front of your chocolate fountain and be there the rest of the night, and that's fine, but on average you can expect each guest to take about three dipped items. Now if someone came to me and said "I've got a hundred guests how much Chocolate am I going to need?" I'm simply going to say to myself well one pound of chocolate will serve 20 people... so if I take 100 and divide it by 20 I'm going to end up with 5 pounds of Chocolate which is the serving capacity that will be needed to serve 100 guests.
Minimum & Maximum Amounts Of Chocolate
So the second part of this equation, five pounds is needed to serve 100 people, the second part of this equation involves your Chocolate Fountain. Now your Chocolate Fountain has a minimum and a maximum amount of Chocolate that it requires. The minimum is the amount of Chocolate that it requires to run and flow and cascade properly without gapping. In this case this is Sephra's smallest Fountain... it is the 16 inch Sephra Select. It requires a minimum of three pounds of Chocolate. It has a maximum capacity of four pounds of Chocolate which means that the serving capacity is four minus three which gives us a one pound serving capacity so I'll need to refill this from time to time. It's not really meant for commercial use, per say, but if I had a hundred guests and I was using this Chocolate Fountain I know that my 100 guests will eat five pounds of Chocolate, give or take, and I know this Fountain requires three pounds. And so if I add those together I have eight pounds of Chocolate that will get me through my event.
