Sephra - Quick & Easy Way To Maintain Your Chocolate Fountain

Check The Fountain From A Different Angle

Inspecting your Sephra Chocolate Fountain at the end of each night should require no more than 20 seconds. Once your day has ended and you have unscrewed and cleaned out the Chocolate from the Bowl of your Fountain... perform two quick inspections.

Turn the Bowl on its side and look at the Metal Driver. The Metal Driver is approximately two and a half inches in diameter and looks like a six bladed metal fan located at the very bottom of the Bowl. Quickly inspect it for signs of Chocolate. Next using your thumb and index finger give the Metal Driver a quick quarter or half turn... there should be very little resistance but enough so that the Metal Driver will not spin freely. Look into the Motor compartment for any signs of leaking Chocolate which can resemble thick black grease. If there are no signs of Chocolate in the Metal Driver or Motor compartment, and the Metal Driver spins freely, then everything is perfect. However if you can see Chocolate in the Metal Driver or Motor compartment, or if there's a lot of resistance when rotating the Metal Driver, then you should have your sealant Bearing Kit replaced immediately. If you did not see any Chocolate in the Metal Driver, but it was difficult to rotate with your fingers, Chocolate has most likely leaked past Seals into the Bearings. When Chocolate gets inside the Bearings they begin to seize which makes it more difficult for your Motor to turn the drive shaft over the course of a few weeks or months. Depending on use the Bearings continue to seize placing more stress on your Motor as it turns the auger potentially causing premature Motor failure. Sephra Chocolate Fountains are the only electrically and sanitation certified Fountains in the industry. The electrical certification requires that a Thermal Switch be installed in each Motor. The Thermal Switch will shut the Motor off if it begins to overheat. Once the Motor cools down it will start back up again but the Fountain should be serviced immediately.

A Quick Recap

Let's review after you've turned off your Fountain and cleaned the Bowl.
Number one... look for signs of Chocolate on the Driver.
Number two... turn the Metal Driver.

Et Voila!

That's it! It's that simple. Remember if you can see Chocolate or if the Metal Driver is difficult to turn then service your Commercial Chocoloate Fountain by replacing the Seal and Bearing Kit. If your Fountain shuts down for any reason it's because a switch has been triggered and your Fountain needs to be checked and or serviced. Please protect your investment by taking 20 seconds at the end of each night to inspect your Fountain and know the signs of equipment that needs to be serviced.
